Thema: Sinking F 611 and F 722

Colleagues,
Please help me to establish some details of the sinking of barges F 611 and F 772 on the night of June 5, 1944.
It is not clear whether they were traveling in the same convoy or in different ones - the time of the attack of the aircraft was the same, but the second barge was not included in the convoy of F 2488, 4608, 4611, 4617, 2751. Where did these convoys go?

- 24.05.1944 02u00 Nachschubgeleit F 411, F 611, F 608 mit F 2249, F 2759 auf dem Weg von Livorno nach Piombino. Auf der Fahrt 2 Mal Beschuss durch nicht identizierte feindliche Einheiten. Einschläge teilweise deckend im Verband. F 611 unter Beschuss in der Baratti Bucht auf Strand gelaufen. Nach Ende des Angriffs von F 411 freigeschleppt.[1]

No. Here is the record of the sinking of F 611
05.06.1944, 01.50 Uhr: Zweiter Angriff der Raketenbomber auf Nachschubgeleit F 2488, 4608, 4611, 4617, 2751 vor der Ombrone-Mündung. F 611 mehrfach getroffen. Auf Grund Explosionsgefahr (4000 Minen, 30 t Munition) geht die Besatzung in die Flöße. Gegen 02u15 wird das Boot durch Explosion der Ladung zerrissen und sinkt.
The F 772 was not part of this convoy.

Convoy 716 composition and destination are not specified, only the time of its attack.

Probably F 772 was part of Convoy 716, but its composition is not known. It turns out that there were two convoys?

The first date does not refer to the sinking of F 611. There even the composition of the convoy is different.

At 0121 a convoy of Naval ferry barges and other
barges was attacked by enemy planes North of Orbetello. Two
naval landing craft were set on fire by rocket-bombs and sunk
after explosion of the ammunition. One naval landing craft
was damaged. An attack with rocket bombs and gunfire
from the air on a convoy of war freighters was warded off.

23u15 F 608, 617, 772 bei Punkt 744 dem Geleit Lt.z.S. Berendsen angehängt.

01u30 Ombrone-Mündung: Geleit Lt.z.S.Berendsen mit Raketenbombern angegriffen. F 617 durch 1 Bombe am Achterschiff schwer beschädigt und auf Strand gesetzt. Durch Einsatz der gesamten Besatzung kommt das Boot wieder frei

02u05-02u45: Beim 2. Angriff erhalten F 611 und 772 so schwere Treffer, dass beide Boote sinken (Anlagen 4 und 5)

Beaufighters of 39 Sqn RAF attacked some shipping that night.
