Again from ADM 199/657

At 0430 hours the British destroyers HMS Laforey, HMS Lightning, HMS Maori and the Dutch destroyer HrMs Isaac Sweers departed Gibraltar for an A/S sweep to the west of that place.

At 0949 hours, in position 36.02'N, 07.00'W three explosions were heard close astern. The area was searched but no contact was made. The flottilla then proceeded with it's sweep at noon.


This fit very well with the attack reported by U-562. Three torpedoes were fired at 1037 hours (Berlin time) and also the position is well within CG 94.
