Lieber Igor,

10.4.45
Z.43 exploded in 54.48 – 09.47, very far from all soviet minefields.

as far as I know, this is the position in Gelting Bight, i.e.Flensburg Fjord where Z 43 hit a mine on May 3, 1945 , not April, 10.

greetings, Urs

31.1.45: L-3  there no evidence in documents about this sightings.
01.2.45: Soviet subs not conducted attacks that day.

Rohwer gives the following remark: It is possible that the attacks [against sw PM LANDSORT and sw -D GUTE] are one and the same. @ Igor: What do you mean with the statement: there is no evidence about this sightings. CAP ARCONA had been on the way to Gdynia, when she was attacked twice (following Sergey). But I've got no B-times for these attacks. If attack against LANDSORT and GUTE is really identic, it would better match with the attacks of L-3 in the evening of 31.Jan. Maybe GUTE reported her observations not before 1.Feb. Best regards, Thomas

Well, you partly wright. This coordinats indeed means sinking Z.43 in Gelting Bight - but she was selbstversenkt, not hit another mine.
But this DD no matter wasn't victim of L-21, because she hit magnetic mine (british).

Yes, this is not mistake.
K-53 meet empty little boat, most likely some Hafenschutzboot, and sunk them with 4-100-mm granaten.

My sentence was about CAP ARCONA attack. I asked Miroslav about it separately, and he say, that in all german documents he never see any evidence about voyage this ship that day.
As to LANDSORT - you gave them coordinats 57.28n 17.20e, near Kalmarsund, and real attack was too far away - 57.16,5 - 21.07,2, near Windau!!

I would like to point out - for the sake of the ASA - that this action was, then, not an "attack", i.e. an act of war, but the destruction of a navigational hazard (unmanned and drifting vessel at sea)

But this case was listed in ASA-Datenbank. I don't add it - only correct.

17.4.45 -- L-3 attack in pos. 55.02,1 - 18.24,9.

Dear Igor. The suggested new A-position is really far away from the sinking position of GOYA (55.13n 18.20e)
Please have another look into your documents. Best regards, Thomas
