Versenkung M3619/Crabeel & Grabeels (Quelle: Gröner/Jung/Maas Bd. VIII, S.307)
The sinking would better match with attack of S-4 on 12/0423 or 16/0302. --- Gröner/Jung/Maas may have used ASA-book for the last volume of DDK-series, already, and now I'm moving in a bad circle when I say that M3619 was sunk (by LEMBIT). But, dear Igor, please tell me a better source for the fact that CRABEEL & GRABEELS survived the war.
M.3619 sent report to Kubef. Mitte: 0227 in AO9463 detonation.
This was attack of S-4. This case recorded however on 13.10.44, one day later.
I can't remember, what was source of knowing about surviving the war for M.3619. Maybe Miroslav told me. Other side, there no evidence, that she sink.

M256, escorting a convoy, obviously reported two attacks with two and three torpedoes.
1st attack on 29/2044 --/>/> http://www.historisches-marinearchiv.de/projekte/asa/ausgabe.php?where_value=1244
Rohwer states in ASA-book attack of SC-318 on 29/2257. A-Time does not fit with B-Time
Igor states SC-318 attacked convoy headed with M256, but neither give A-time nor A-position.

2nd attack on 30/2320 --/>/> http://www.historisches-marinearchiv.de/projekte/asa/ausgabe.php?where_value=1245
Igor states SC-318 had contact with V-boates in evening, but neither give A-time nor A-position.
A-Time 22.57 (given by Rohwer for attack SC-318 of 29.10.) would match with B-Time.
Dear Igor, will you please have another look into your documents ?
Best regards, Thomas
29.10.44 SC-318 attacked convoy (3 transports, 3 escorts) in 22.27 17 sm south from Libava, 3 torpedoes, transport 9000 t. There was 2 explosions. M.256 see 2 torpedoes, no more details in KTB.
Besides this, SC-318 conducted no attacks nor 29.10, nor 30.10. Only on evening 30.10 she has multiple contactes with enemy task force, but even not trying to attack.
From German side only sign of this attack found in FdM's KTB:
M.256 mit KR FT 2044/88
Torpedolaufbahn in Quadrat 9321.
So you have approx. B-time 20.44, althoug i think it must be earlier, than FT-time

Igor schreibt:
ZitatL-3 gave no report about such attack ...

Dear Igor, Rohwer found any claims in coherence with L-3 at exactly 7:38h.
Perhaps an attack being broken off in time, or any other observations ?
Regards, Thomas
Well, this was my mistake in interpreting of Miroslav's data. No trace in document from German side, but attack realyy happen in 7.38 and so on.

igor

Now there is very last update about SC-310 attack in 15.15 10.10.44 11 sm wast of Windau, supplied by Miroslav.
HIDDENSEE by this time already separated and go to Windau. According to KTB 31 M-fl., targeted was convoy, consisted from ELBING 4, ELBING 7, GISELA OLDENDORF, M.3117, M.3151. 2 torpedoes passed behind of convoy.

Hi Igor.
I had a look into the cards of Rohwer and now read the following:
12.10.44/11.58 M3619 (Grabeels, Ostende) near Büsterort Kesselexplosion (Torp./Mine ?)
Source : KTB A/Skl 12.10.44   Notation: if really Mine -- then LEMBIT ?

Yours Thomas

igor

Hi Thomas.
Well, when i search MOK Ostsee for 12.10.44, i find this fact.
15.00 M.3619 received hit by mine ar torpedo and has kesselexplosion, but as we see, she didn't sink. There is no exact coordinates, only "Nahe Brusterort".
What we see? M.3619 can't be victim of LEMBIT's torpedo (no attack that day), or mine (sub lay mines north from Colberg, far away from Brusterort).
If 3619 sent message 15.00, three hours after explosion, very possible, that she didn't sink. There is no records about sinking in MOK Ostsee. This was very little ship - only 60-70 ts. Torpedoexplosion or contact mine must rip them apart. May be this was just accident?
I think, on 9.50 13.10.44 when in MOK Ostsee record for TAUNUS sinking present, M.3619 finally reach haven.

igor

Now i look directly in KTB M.3619, which sent to me Miroslav. What i see? This report about kesselexplosion and other thing - is just answer from M.3619 to question about reason of sinking TAUNUS!! Then M.3619 proceed with her convoy and on 3.20 13.10.44 was near Memel. Thats all.
If only Rohwer not to blind trust upper documents like KTB SKL, and carefully search throug flotillen and ships KTB, we have now much little to do with corrections.

Moin moin Thomas,

Kein Treffer.

At 00.10 on the 5th an an eighty ton caique was sunk NE of Cape Pori.

At 09.24 on the 5th a ship was sighted southbound from Gulf of Salonika with a caique in company.
After passing Cape Kassandra it altered course to the east and was identified as BOURGAS.
UNTIRING closed as far as possible at full speed submerged for 1½ hours and at 10.59 fired four torpedoes on 130º track range 4300 yards. Before the torpedoes arrived the target was seen to have turned straight towards Untiring, who went deep. A hunt of two hours followed, in which 96 depth charges were dropped, not very close and without damage. From this it was concluded that the target was not BOURGAS but a UJ boat.
