Vetehinen, 4-9.12.1939 Vetehinen sails from Föglö to Libau and back to Flisö. The mission is to attack icebreaker Jermak. On 5th at 02.00 the boat ran aground and returns to Flisö. After a test dive the boat departs again at 15.10. The boat tries to attack icebreaker Jermak 7.12. off Libau, but can not get to attack position due to poor visibility. The boat sails back 8.12. and is attacked 9.12. on the morning by Щ 324 east from Lågskär. The torpedo misses and Vetehinen does not even notice the attack. The boat returns to Flisö at 13.00.
So we have to assume, that SC-324 claimed a successful attack.
"From Sub. SC324 to KBF, We have shot a torpedo against submarine Vetehinen near Compass shallows. Torpedo missed."
