Der in deutscher Charter fahrende Munitionstransporter Fürstin Maria Luise (ex-bulg. Knyaguinya Marija Luisa 3821 BRT) gerät im Hafen von Piräus aus ungeklärter Ursache in Brand. Ein Schlepper versucht, das brennende Schiff aus dem Hafen zu ziehen, aber Brennstoff und Ladung explodieren. Dies führte dazu, dass das in der Nähe befindliche italienische Vorpostenboot Albatros (V.19) ebenfalls explodiert.

HMS Trespasser (Lt.Cdr. R.M. Favell, RN) sinks the Italian auxiliary patrol vessel V8 / Filippo (242 GRT) with gunfire about 25 nautical miles south of Bastia, Corsica, France.

1135 hours - Sighted a large three masted schooner of about 200 tons in position 42º20'N, 09º50'E. She was laying stopped with her stern to a sea anchor or some sort of buoy.

1230 hours - Surfaced and opened fire on the schooner with the deck gun. The crew of the schooner abandoned ship and the vessel burst into flames.
