Hello,

I research to know the reason the death  of approximately forty marine seven Germans in the gulf of Saint Malo in Brittany 26 April 44.
Aerial attack or other.

The only event at the war at sea I found is the following:
At 25th of April,1944, the 4th Torpedoboat-Flotilla ("T-24", "T-27", "T-29") went from St. Malo to Les Sept Isles to throw mines.
In the night (so on 26.4.1944) they had a battle with the british cruiser "Black Prince", the british destroyer "Ashanti" and the canadian destroyers "Athabaskan", "Haida" and "Huron".
"T-27" escaped damaged to Morlaix, "T-24" escaped damaged to St. Malo (no data about killed or wounded people) and "T-29" was sunk by "Haida". 135 seamen were killed and 73 rescued.

But there might have been other things like air strikes happened as well, of course.

Hmm, T-29 = TA29 war an dem Tag wohl noch weiter unterwegs ..

Bei dem Unternehmen am 25./26.4. läuft TA 23 vor Capreira auf eine Mine (ausgelegt von dem unter alliierter Kontrolle fahrenden ital. Torpedoboot Sirio) und muss aufgegeben und durch TA 29 selbstversenkt werden. TA 26 und TA 29 führen ein Gefecht mit einer US Schnellboot-Gruppe mit PT 218, PT 202, PT 213.

T 29 ist nicht gleich TA 29 !

TA-29 ist das ehemalige italienische Torpedoboot Eridano - darum auch im Mittelmeer unterwegs.
War durch die italiener noch nicht ganz fertiggestellt, die Restarbeiten wurden durch die deutschen erledigt.

Na gut ,
wieder was dazu gelernt ....

Übrigens waren viele der "Torpedoboote Ausland" (daher TA) in wirklichkeit waschechte Zerstörer !
Der Mangel an, dem Dienstgrad entsprechenden, Kommandanten (ab KKpt.) machte es notwendig, die Schiffe als Torpedoboote zu klassifizieren, so daß sie von OL z.S. oder Kaleuns kommandiert werden konnten.
Man sieht, Mangel an allem !
