Adolf Lüderitz left the Baltic and went to Vlissingen with 3 SFtl on 9 Sep 1940.

Einlaufen am 10.9.1940

After air attacks she continued to Rotterdam on 12 Sep.

Luftangriff nur wenige Stunden nach Einlaufen; Flottillenchef Kptlt Kemnade schwer verwundet, Boote der 3. S-Fltl der 2. S-Fltl vorübergehend zugeteilt

Both Adolf Lüderitz and Carl Peters were in Rotterdam in Oct 1940. CP will leave with 1 Sftl to go to Norway but will only end up in Fredrikshavn in Denmark. I have one Fredrikshavn photo showing CP with S 20 and S 28. They will all go back to Germany on 15 Nov 1940.

Adolf Lüderitz will remain in Rotterdam. The 3 Ftl Schnellboote had to go south when the ice came to Rotterdam on 27 Dec 1940 but AL stayed.

I have one Fredrikshavn photo showing CP with S 20 and S 28. They will all go back to Germany on 15 Nov 1940.

Das ist nicht Frederikshavn (Ich kenne den Hafen gut aus eigener S-Boot-Kommandantenzeit)
Es ist in AO 7136 links oben (vor Grenaa)
CP hat dort wegen Schlechtwetter den Rückmarsch von Frederikshavn nach Kiel unterbrochen und um 14.20 geankert, Boote längsseits (Bild). Boote müssen wegen Seegang abends wieder ablegen und nach Grenaa einlaufen. Morgens am 16.11. Marsch fortgesetzt; Einlaufen in Kiel am 16.11., 16:50

First hand information. Explains why we cant see any harbour.

I had a closer look at the CP photo. Note the ancore on the fordeck on S 28.  It also looks like S 28 was partly camouflaged. It could also be that CP has some winter camouflage. The dodgers looks almost black but the wheelhouse could be white. More photos anyone?

Auf dem CP-Photo in Antwort #12 sehe ich im Hintergrund die Passagierschiffe "St. Louis" und "Milwaukee" (sehr schön!). wobei "Milwaukee" bereits die große AA-Plattform zwischen den Schornsteinen aufweist. Ich vermute, dass sie diese erst ab ca. 1942 hatte, aber vielleicht weiß das hier ja jemand genauer (?)..

It can be CP in 1942.  It looks like the trees in the background are without leafs. The CP front gun could also be the twin 10,5 cm.

It could be April 1942. CP got the new gun 11 April in Kiel arsenal.

Regarding Ola's question from the previous page :

There is a photo showing AL being painted in a dark camouflage. It looks like it is in Rotterdam (or Vlissingen?). I have not found the exact spot. There is a sign "HANDEL SCOHPAC..."). Do anyone know where?

It's definitely the "Buitenhaven" in Vlissingen.

These two pics show French soldiers in the port of Vlissingen. French troops had arrived in May 1940 to support the Dutch army.

I really like this.
It makes sense that AL was camouflage painted right after the air attacks on 10 Sep. 1940.
The "HANDESLCOMPAGNIE-STORES" is probably the small white looking house to the left of AL.

Carl Peters left Fredrikshavn and when to Kiel wharf in Nov 1940. She returned to Rotterdam on 12 Dec 1940 probably in a new camouflage.

I have attached a model box photo stating it to be 1943. This is probably wrong and should be 1940/41. The front gun looks strange. Anyone know why? Is it not a 8.8 cm like the other gun?

Schiff lief im Vergleich zum April 1940 1,5 kn langsamer

There is on Kiel photo showing CP in the stripe camouflage with camouflaged 1 Ftl Schnellboote. All ready for the trip to Finland.
There are some photos showing CP by the island Pensar/Pensor in Finland with the strip camouflage still in place. The 2 SFtl was based on Pensar with Tsingtau. CP went on to the island Nagu where she was camouflaged with a lot of trees.

Nothing has really changed on Pensar. The monument and all the buildings are still there.

Hi,

Carl Peters had the large stripes painted over when she got to "Lill Nagu".
She still hade the same camouflage with overpainted stripes when she left Finland in Oct. 1941.
