Redux: U-Falle "Capitano Pitou" Italy 1944

I have returned to my research on German U-Falle/Q-ships lately. Several years ago I posted this question and was hoping something new may have emerged.

In 2016 I saw an entry in my Groener's V. 8 page 539 about an Italian ship "Capitano Pitou" that looks like it had a fairly heavy armament and was used as a U-Falle/Q-ship submarine decoy. A German Q-ship in this section of the Mediterranean in Late 1944 seems odd but I was not there to consult on strategy so who an I to say anything .



Does anyone have any information on this ship or any pictures by any
chance?
