AGIOS SPYRIDON was originally built in 1884 as the gunboat EVROTAS for the Greek Navy, along with three sister-ships. She was auctioned in 1934 and rebuild as a sailing cargo ship renamed THEOLOGOS IOANNOU. In 1938 she was re-classified as a motorized sailing ship. In January 1940 she was sold and renamed AGIOS SPYRIDON. The ship was scuttled by the German occupation forces in October 1944 in Salonica. The wreck of AGIOS SPYRIDON was salvaged in April 1945 by Achilleas Halkousis and repaired as the NAGOS.
On July 26, 1951 the motorship NAGOS was sailing south of Anafi Island in the Aegean when a failure in her engine room was reported followed by water inrush which resulted to become adrift. The crew took to the boats and abandoned NAGOS which eventually went down two hours later while 6 miles west of Pachia Island.

Attached is a photo of the wreck of AGIOS SPYRIDON shortly after her salvage in 1945, used in an article published by "Marine-Nachrichtenblatt" Nr.19.

In a well know photo (Aldo Fraccaroli) taken in Piraeus on 23 August 1942, the destroyer PEGASO is opposite to  UJ.2107 (ex MILOS).

The vessel behind ex-MILOS is probably UJ.2106 and that leaves the vessel to the right. There are several similarities to the photo of the postwar salvaged wreck of AGIOS SPYRIDON at Salonica.
The area of the holds appear to be covered with equipment and is armed with at least a gun on the bow. Her presence in a pier with warships suggest that she was also commissioned in the Kriegsmarine. If yes, what was her designation?

I have certain doubts whether GA 01 was the ex SPYRIDON (Pir 537) as speculated at https://www.forum-marinearchiv.de/smf/index.php/topic,17513.msg237230.html#msg237230
Looking into the photo it makes me wonder whether GA 01 was the ex AGIOS SPYRIDON
