More or less a coincidence. I was looking for the name of the vessel which was in Barbados when ss Cornwallis was torpedoed  there and found it was Betancuria.
In the Norwegian site Warsailors it was confirmed that the Betancuria was missed. As a sort of footnote it was also put on record that this vessel was attacked by U 172 lateron in July 1943.

P.S. in the heading of site regarding the torpedoing of Cornwallis in Barbados a photograph is shown of a torpedoed Tanker.  Can this tanker be identified? The photo was probably not taken in Barbados. I think it is San Elisio hit by U 156

Der Dampfer on bajanthings.com ist nicht die Cornwallis.

Der Tanker im Bilde on bajanthings.com ist sehr ähnlich mit die San Elisio wie Jaap erwähnte.

Ein anderes Bild der San Elisio - aus die BfZ! - bringt https://uboat.net/allies/merchants/ship/1673.html, und uboat.net erwähnt im Text zum Bild dass die San Elisio am 20.Mai 1942 in ... Barbados einlief für vorläufige Reparaturen nach die Torpedotreffer von U156.
Die San Elisio war mit Treffer-Schaden in Barbados.
Ein weiterer Grund an zu nehmen das Bild in bajanthings.com ist tatsächlich die San Elisio.
