Report on Virginia-class Attack Submarine Program

The Navy has been procuring Virginia (SSN-774) class nuclear-powered attack submarines (SSNs) since FY1998. The one Virginia-class boat that the Navy is requesting for procurement in FY2021 would be the 33rd boat in the class. The Navy's FY2020 budget submission had projected that the Navy would request two Virginia-class boats in FY2021.

Secretary of the Navy Kenneth J. Braithwaite announced USS Constellation (FFG 62) as the name for the first ship in the new Guided Missile Frigate (FFG(X)) class of ships Oct. 7 while aboard the museum ship Constellation in Baltimore Inner Harbor.

Zwei Anmerkungen

Zum Ersten ist es eine weitere Ehrung für Richard O' Kane nach DDG-77

Zum Zweiten ist Wahoo eine zumindest ungeschickte Wahl, da das Boot  Wahoo als Einziges der USN in ein bekanntes Kriegsverbrechen verwickelt war
