Hello!

In this excellent document by Manfred Krellenberger on the UJ-2216, there is a nice photo of the trawler "Petsamo" on page 35:

She appears to have a shielded Italian 10cm gun forward and two smaller gun positions aft. The photo looks very different from the drawing of this ship in Groener's V. 8/1.

Can anyone provide details of her as far as dimensions (is Groener's correct?), armament and operations?

Hello Dave,

Petsamo main gun was an Ansaldo 65/64 gun, probably taken from the guns built for the aircraft carrier AQUILA
