Hallo TW,

kurze Ergänzung aus KTB des Deutschen Marinekommando Tunesien für 23.01.1943:

1550 Uhr Aufgetauchtes feindliches U-Boot beschiesst querab von der Hafeneinfahrt Sousse, in etwa 5 km Entfernung, ein ital. Minensuchboot. Die Hafenbatterie eröffnet das Feuer, worauf das U-Boot sofort taucht. Dadurch kann das Minensuchboot noch auf Strand gesetzt werden.

MICHELINO was a fishing  motor-schooner, a goletta of 37 grt built in 1927 and owned by Giovanni Capurso e C. from Molfetta. Requisitioned by the Regia Marina on 16 June 1940 at Molfetta as the inshore minesweeper B 487, derequisitioned on 12 May 1942 and again taken over on 1 August 1942. Hit by gunfire from HMS UNRIVALLED 4 n.m. East from  Sousse on 23 Jan. 1943 while en route homewards from Tripoli during the evacuation of that port, flooded and beached  near Sousse to prevent her sinking and abandoned.

A minor mistake: the submarine was HMS P.45. The name of HMS Unrivalled was only given in February 1943.

Rohwer: Allied Submarine Attacks, Explanatory Notes, page 11:
In 1942 new British submarines had only 'P' numbers, but they received names in 1943. In the tables only the final names are genererally given …

Rohwer's decision was taken over to the database to make sure that all attacks of one and the same sub are viewed, when searching the name of any submarine.

Natürlich hätte ich mich auch für die Nummer als Einheits-Kennung entscheiden können. Aber die Namen bleiben als Erinnerungsstütze einfach besser im Gedächtnis als die Nummern.
