Sinking KT-5, -9 and -21.
« am: 12 Juni 2019, 21:10:56 »
Hi,

Colleagues,

Please tell me the circumstances of the sinking of the German military transports KT-5, -9 and -21 on the night of May 9, 1943 at Cape Bon and what kind of cargo they carried. I found different information - they were sunk either by British destroyers, or by airplanes or MTB.

Yes. That is what I meant!

08.05.1943  KT 21   N Kap Bon  + A  brit DD Laforey, Tartar, Loyal
09.05.1943  KT 5     Kap Bon     + A  brit DD Laforey, Tartar, Loyal
09.05.1943  KT 9     N Bizerta    + A  am, brit Flugzeuge
All three ships followed along. 08.05 came under attack by aviation at Cape Bon and KT-9 was sunk there. At night, 09.05, the other two ships were killed. They did not go beyond Cape Bon.
