Three years ago, fellow researcher George Karelas presented the three attached photos in the facebook group Shipwrecks of the Greek Seas, showing two ships attacked by German aircraft. They were taken by Luftwaffe Oberleutnant Matthias Schwegler. He correctly located the shown bay in North East Evia, at the north side of Yaltra, at position  38°53'25.53"N,  22°55'47.65"E.
New information surfaced recently concerning the identity of the two ships. This small bay was then known to the locals as Kryfolimnionas (means hidden anchorage in Greek).
Greek bilbliography shows that two ships were lost there: the cargo motorship SOTIRIOS which was a converted trawler, and the passenger ship AETOS which was a converted yacht.
According to "Shipwrecks of the Greek Seas, 1900-1950" SOTIRIOS was bombed and sunk on 20.9 and AETOS followed on 29.9. The second date must be false as the area was already occupied by the Germans at that date.

In the first photo we show SOTIRIOS (in dazzle paint) to the left, AETOS to the right.
In the second photo a bomb exploded on the stern area of SOTIRIOS
In the third photo, only AETOS remains

The two wrecks remained there during the war and were earmarked by the Greek Wreck Salvage Organization (O.A.N.) to be salvaged or scrapped by 1950. In a 1950 document by O.A.N., the salvage appears to have been completed in 1/50 for SOTIRIOS and in 1/51 for AETOS. (Attachement 4)

"bombed and sunk on 20.9 and AETOS followed on 29.9. The second date must be false as the area was already occupied by the Germans at that date."
Well, the first date must be wrong, too. Might be 4 (=April) instead of 9 = September??

Sorry my mistake
The dates are given as 20.4 and 29.4 respectively.
