abbreviation MAST in Kriegsmarine reports

New on this forum, but former merchant navy officer myself, I came accross the abbreviation MAST in Kriegsmarine reports from WWII. I understand it must be short for a condition of a vessel, not the mast of a vessel itself, but am at a loss what it could mean. Possibly a very stupid question, as a consequence I appologize already for same.

Similarly I appologize for usig the English language: my German would potentially make you all laugh and probably the question even more unclear...
