hi,

that's a British-built Thornycroft 55-ft type CMB of which several were sold to foreign navies after WWI.

Judging by the flag : the Netherlands, or Yugoslavia ?  I don't know

Time : definitely pre-WW II

greetings, Urs

Thanks for your reply Urs. The Dutch navy did have some of these boats but as far as I can tell these were all used in Indonesia (former Dutch colony) :

So either the pic was taken in Asia or it was made during a test run in Holland.

edit: probably a test run :

So no connection with the Kriegsmarine whatsoever  :-).

Hello everybody,

If I judge by the flag, this may be the Yugoslav naval flag. At the beginning of World War II, the Yugoslav Navy had this link:

https://weltkrieg2.de/jugoslawien-streitkraefte/

two more old motor torpedo boats. In the section "Navy of Yugoslavia" is also a picture of the sailing ship "Jadra" with flag to see.

It should be the same flag.

google-Übersetzer benutzt  :-D

Hi Lothar, you are quite right,  that does seem to be the Yugoslav navy flag. Mystery solved  :-).

Nice pics Peter, thanks ! The ebay photo also shows the name "Cetnik" although the name ( and the photo) is actually mirrored.

I don´t think, that it´s CETNIK and I also don´t believe, that the ebay-pic is actually mirrored.
Please compare it and especially the name of the boat near its stern with the pic in reply 22 on the second page of the mentioned link.
