The division was fully manned by sailors. Later, they formed a detachment of five captured sailing schooners used to protect the southern coast. Three schooners were armed with 45-mm cannons, and one of them was additionally equipped with one DSC machine gun; the fourth schooner had one 37 mm trophy cannon and one WWII machine gun, the fifth schooner remained unarmed.
