kleine Ergänzung zum Verlust der "Vassiliki" gem. Admirality War Diary vom 25.07.1942:
ZitatVASSILIKI (Greek caique). My 1230/12/11/41. Sunk by enemy S/M 23/7 while on Passage Beirut Famagusta. No casualties.(P.S.T.O. Egypt 0745/25 to Admty.)

2. Operation GARWAY. The move of six thousand military personnel into Famagusta from Haifa was completed today. ANTWERP and PRINCESS MARGUERITE were employed and an escort of three destroyers for each trip was provided from Port Said and Haifa as required.
3. At 0500, the Greek schooner VASSILIKI was sunk by a U boat in approximate position 34-45N, 34-35E. Survivors landed in their own boat at Famagusta during the day. As a result schooner traffic was again temporarily suspended.

Zur Information: das KTB U77 sagt aus: "22 juli 1942, 0455 in CP2988 'Mit zehn Schuß Segler in brand geschossen'.
Für den 23 Juli 1942 dokumentiert das KTB keinem Angriff.

Danke für Eure Aufmerksamkeit
In ASS ist (und war) die Datums-Differenz ja auch angezeigt.
Bei den griechischen Kleinschiffen (viele Schiffe gleichen Namens) ist die Hafennummer ein wichtiges Identifizierungsmerkmal.
Hier lautet sie KAL.186 : KAL steht für Kalamata.
