No lilies on an ocean wave
The only tribute is the seagull's sweeps
And the teardrops that a sweetheart weeps

Milos Beran

Is it possible to learn more about this person ? Johann Pauk is a member of my Family Tree. I know that he was corvette captain in Deutsche Marina, but I have an information, that he was also commander of Thesaloniki port during the WW II.

Hi Milos,

Johann Pauk was born 13 July 1898 in Arbing/Oberdonau. It seems that he has already been in the "k.u.k" (Austrian) navy (Crew  IX/15). From February to August 1940 he served in  the  17. U-Jagd-Flottille (submarinechasers), from August 1940 to April 1942 in the 13. Vorposten-Flottille as a commander and in different other posts. From April 1942 to September 1944 he had been commanded to the Marine-Lehrverband (Navy Training Bulgarien unit Bulgaria) and commander of the port of Thesaloniki. Finally he had been commander of the port of Aarhus in Denmark form September 1944 till the end of the war. He had been promoted to lieutenant commander "z.V." on 1 Novbember 1944.

Kind regards
