Ich meine mich zu erinnern, das Bild in einem Buch gesehen zu haben ... aber wo 
Also müßte ich raten ... und das mag ich nicht.
Warten wir also ab, ob ein Anderer die Lösung findet.

Im Internet wird das Bild auf verschiedenen Seiten tituliert mit ""S 33" passiert ein eigenes Dickschiff (Bild: Aus Buch Fr. Meier "Kriegsmarine am Feind")".
Keine Ahnung ob das stimmt.

Yes, there are 5 photos from this boat in Kriegsmarine am Feind. It is not S 33 and it is not taken from a battle ship.

Yes, Kriegsmarine am Feind is published in Nov. 1940 and yes it is in the west.

(The boat does not have dodgers (covers on the railing) making it before ~spring 1941)

wie gesagt, mag ich kein Raten. ... Vermuten ist erlaubt.

Ausgehend davon, daß das Buch im November 1940 erschien (das wußte ich nicht) und natürlich einen Zeitvorlauf hatte, und von den Gesten der sichtbaren Besatzung, sehe ich zwei Möglichkeiten
- Einlaufen einer "alten" Besatzung mit einem neuen Boot (Typ S 30)
Dabei kommen zeitlich nur die Boote der 1. Serie S 30 - S 37 in Frage.
- Einlaufen nach einem Versenkungserfolg
Das könnte nur ein Erfolg bei der Dünkirchen-Evakuierung oder die Versenkung der Albuera durch S 36 gewesen sein.

- Einlaufen einer "alten" Besatzung mit einem neuen Boot (Typ S 30)
Dabei kommen zeitlich nur die Boote der 1. Serie S 30 - S 37 in Frage.
- Einlaufen nach einem Versenkungserfolg

Mit 2 Reservetorpedos an Deck wohl eher ein Auslaufen ...

Yes, it is an Auslauf.

I think I gave away the location with the file names, Boulogne.

Some then and now photos.

1. Bassin Loubet to the left where the boat came from. There is a lock now that was not present in 1940. There is also an object with Schnellboot connection still there. Can you spot it?
2. The Plage. The wall is still there! I only made this match yesterday.
3. The uncensored photo from Bundesarchive. KB Böltz. He was mainly with the 1 SFtl.

Yes, the torpedo bunker is still there. The main Schnellboot bunker is gone.

I think the boat is on it's own in Boulogne but it will join others for the nights mission. There were a slight connection to 1 SFtl before the photos were taken. Not sure if it affected KB Böltz.
The commander's rank and decorations can be seen on the beach photo.

Das paßt nach meinen Lebenslauf-Informationen nur auf Klaus Feldt, aber ich glaube (anhand von Figur und Haaren) nicht, daß er es ist

Yes, I think you have it there: Feldt.
The details on the boat makes it S 30 in Boulogne. Using your information in the HMA I think 28 July is the best match.

S 30 damaged at sea on 19 July. On a mission with S 34, S 35 and S 22 (1 SFtl).
S 30 in a dock in Boulogne for a week. Plenty of time for the beach.
S 34, S 36 and S 22 left Boulogne on 23 July
S 35 left on 25 July
S 30 left on 28 July after a test run for Ostende and a new night mission with 2 SFtl.

Need to go to the Bundesarchiv and check film roll 931 at some time.

Der erste Fall "S 13" war eindeutig. Dieser ist es nicht ganz so.
