The latest issue of the Marine Faehr Prahme list, made available only a few days ago,  corrects the Groener concerning the following two boats:

F 436, which became AF 24 instead of going to the Mediterranean and later becoming the Italian Navy MTC 1103;

F 831, which became AF 99 (vice F 844) instead of going to the Med and later becoming the Italian Navy MTC 1010.

In that case, which MFPs did later become MTC 1010 and 1103?

@de domenico,

MTC 1010 and 1103?

I only know MTC 1001 and 1003. Are you sure about the numbers 1010 and 1103?

MTC 1001 to 1009 were former Regia Marina MZs (motozattere), all of which received the new names with the Marina Militare Italiana on May 1, 1950.

MTC 1010 and 1101 to 1109 were former Kriegsmarine MFPs of several models which the Marina Militare took over with these names on the same date. According to Groener, MTC 1010 was the former F 831; MTC 1107 ex F 360; MTC 1102 to 1104 ex F 435 to 437; MTC 1101 ex F/AF 1046; MTC 1109 (foreseen only) ex F 943; MTC 1105 ex F 1045; MTC 1108 and 1106 (foreseen only) ex F 1155 and 1191.

Thanks , but the Betasom topic referred to by Crolic was my own product,  posted before the availability of  new info correcting the data on MFPs included in Groener's Vol.7. That's the reason behind my request.

I would like to add some information: according to Groener, MFP F 955 ended up by going "to Italy" (an Italien) post-war. No further info on this boat is provided in the database, so I am led to think that it was one of the unidentified MFPs which later became either MTC 1010 or 1103 for the Marina Militare on 1.5.1950. I still would like to know which of the two, however.
