U Boot and German sabotage squads

Good morning Gentlemen,

what about a German U Boote landing mission in Nov. Dec. 1941 in North Africa which was intercepted by the Egyptian Police?

Were there other similar actions during the war, not considering the well known landings of agents in North America?

What about a German U Boote landing mission in Nov. Dec. 1941 in North Africa which was intercepted by the Egyptian Police?

Most probably you mean the landing of 10 men by U-311 (Kptlt. Hans-Dietrich von TIESENHAUSEN) during the night from 17. to 18.11.1941. They should destroy the railway line, but finally they failed:

While the special trained german demolition party was on their way to the railway line, two men of a British patrol approached the German landing site, where two German soldiers guarded their rubber dinghi. The Germans killed these two British, but because this little patrol team was missing after some time, the British sent another, stronger and heavily armed team. It caught the German demolition party on their way back to the beach and finally the German prisoners told the exact position of their explosives.

Correct number of this boat is U-331, the boat that sunk the Barham

Thank you Gentlemen,
anyway in the military museum of El Alamein (an excellent institution I visited last year) ther's a room dedicated to the Royal Egyptian Services during world war twp and they stated, with the help of some pictures, not considering, of course, a painting, that the party from U 331 was intercepted and seized by the local gendarmery. Being not at War with Italy and germany and lacking any real encounter with Axis forces (except for ack ack activity and losses during the raid) they are quite proud about this episode.
