On my research over the net i saw that U355 was last seen or reported on  fourth of april 1944. Well interesting you have the flag of the U-boat. Very interesting, a piece of german history.

Back to U355 this is what i have seen and read over the net

Listed as missing in the Arctic Sea on April 4, 1944.

There is no explanation for its loss. 52 dead (all hands lost).

It would require some photos.  Is there some printing on the hoist border as to manufacturer or unit? Generally, I have seen printing on the hoist tape.
