Unarmed harbor defense boats?

Hello folks, I've recently found photos of a few harbor defense boats, whose identity can be confirmed by their pennant numbers. But these boats didn't have any visible weapons on them, not even MGs, which is very confusing. One possible explanation for the lack of weapons could be that these boats were non-combat boats belonging to harbor defense flotillas, but I have no idea if totally unarmed boats existed in the harbor defense flotillas? All information is welcome

Hello Zielschiffe! In Kriegsmarine there were boats without weapons. Such boats carried small loads and people. In addition, unarmed boats were part of the construction departments of ports and fleet bases. Yours faithfully Muchibushi

Might be these boats were only provisionally in service, still awaiting their weapons?
If you show the pictures a better answer might be possible.

Hello Muchibushi Thanks for the contribution, you are surely right, all navies have plenty of unarmed auxiliaries serving with them, and Kriegsmarine was no exception! The boats mentioned here clearly belonged to one of the harbor defense flotillas, which could have possibly operated unarmed vessels among their ranks too

Yes, that's definitely another possibility, boats not yet fully equipped when the photos were taken!

The pictures are found on physical books currently not at hand unfortunately, that's why I'm not attaching thumbnaild. If memory serves, one boat was FC33, based in France. Another boat was ORe28 or ORe33/34 based in the Baltic, can't remember exactly which one though. Both seemed to have been modified from small fishing boats, with pennant numbers and naval personnel, but not weapons.
