Moin,

For good order's sake:

The yard De Haan & Oerlemans in Heusden built 5 tugs during the war.

In 1940-1941:

No. 211 Katjan II
No. 216 Hollander 1 ordered by J. Muller
No. 217 Tollerort XII ordered by F. Feenstra
No. 218 Ijsselmeer  ordered by Engelsman

In 1942-1943:
No. 231 Hollander II for J. Muller.

D. Feenstra ordered their tug Corry with the yard of Boot, Alphen)

This was not the Tollerort XII but the boat built by De Haan & Oerlemans.

I will check further info if any about a tug called Hanna which was supposed to have been built by De Haan & Oerlemans in 1941.

Regards,

Jaap

Yes, found it. As could be expected the Hanna was the former Katjan II.

Please see www.binnenschiferforum.de.

Last name of the tug was Nereus

Hallo Jaap,

Moin,

The Ijsselmeer was confiscated by the Kriegsmarine and was commisioned on 13.11.1942 as Hapsal. It served in the Baltic with MAST Reval The boat had a crew of Estonians and deserted to Sweden in 1944.

In Sweden it was detected that this was originalla a Dutch tug and  via Norrköping and Göteborg to thwthe Dutch consulate was informed. After the war
the yard De Haan & Oerlemans was notified and in August 1945 Mr. J. Engelsman received the news that his tug was in Stockholm.

In october 1945 he sailed to Sweden and after some ropepulling to get the ship released he sailed the IJsselmeer
via Norrköping and Göteborg to the Norwegian waters in charter of the Dutch Gouvernment to tow confiscated Dutch, Belgian and French vessels along the Norwegian coast. He came as far as Harstad. In November 1946 the IJsselmeer returned to Holland but was damaged by ice in the Kielerkanal. The propellorshft broke.

The boat remained at Brunsbuttel during the winter and after a new shaft was bought and repairs had been made the IJsselmeer arrived at Delfzijl on 7.4.1947.

So far the IJsselmeer story.

The Hollander II was damaged during the war by an airattack and was not completed until after the war.

The yardnos. 238 and 239 were no newbuildings of De Haan & Oerlemans but the record concerned the installment of new motors in two - unidentified - tugs

Yard nos. 243 (Rembrandt) and 244 (Tollens) were two river tugs ordered by Roelofs which were completed after the war.

I hope this has been of service to you.

Jaap

Sorry, I see that the text is garbled.

Is there a way I can correct this???

At least one correction here:

In Sweden it was detected that this was originally a Dutch tug and the Dutch consulate was informed.

Jaap

Moin,

Sorry, Bauno. 237  ist unbekannt. Vielleicht war das einen annulierten Auftrag.
