Built as Dieppe for Brighton & Continental S. P. Co. together with New Haven and Brighton.
Intended to run between Dieppe and Brighton.
Registered in London #237 respectively on 22.06.1847. 
Re-registered Liverpool  #238  on 04.10.1849 to Samuel Brooks, banker, Manchester.
Removed from register on 1.11.1850 as sold to foreigners.
23.09.1850 sold to Real Marina by James Close with San Venefrede in exchange of hulls of steamers Lilibeo and Maria Teresa and schooners Sfinge and Sibilla.
Saetta 06.09.1860 arrived at Gaeta with the King Francesco II.
14.11.1860 envoyed at Toulon to be sold to Auguste Thomas d'Agoiut.
23.01.1861 sold to Camille Canne for 200,000 Francs.
14.03.1861 sold again to Ed. Ladé &Co, Hamburg ,
interimspass 16.05.1861 at Marseilles,
sailed under N.Taffe  to Barcelona, in May 1862 sold to J.F.Buckling, Paris, Hamburg flag, same master, service Neaples-Marseiless,
in Dec 1863 sold to L.H.Mathies & Co, Hamburg (315grt), master E.Barban, sailed Barcelona-Hamburg. 
Lost 9.12.1863 off Cape Saint Vincent .14.12.1863 sunk off Algeciras.
