Hallo Jaap,

The CLOUGTHON WYKE was found in Toghill's "Royal Navy Trawlers", but not so the CHILTON.

With you naming the vessels, we went looking for an English source describing the action and found http://www.naval-history.net/xDKWW2-4003-12MAR01.htm - scroll to Friday, 8 March and there it is.
Here, the second vessel is named CHILTERN (130/1917), a trawler listed by Toghill in his 2-voliume book.

What do you think, CHILTON or CHILTERN? Which source should be the most reliable?

Met vriendelijke groeten,
Frans & Walter

a short internet surfing brought the result that CHILTON is a "US-based" name, "CHILTERN" a UK-based name.

Therefore, presumably : CHILTERN

Hallo, Urs,

You are right. I couldn't read my own handwriting!

It was the CHILTERN (GN 25) but GRT is 324.

There is a picture of this trawler in www.grantontrawlers.com

Jaap
