Zu Gerd Reussel bekam ich heute die nachfolgende Nachricht:

Dear Sir,
I visited Gerd Reussel's grave today in the Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, S.C. Your site describes Gerd as having died in a POW camp. According to official U.S. Navy documents of the battle between the USCGC Icarus and U-352 on 9 May 1942 near Cape Hatteras, N.C., Gerd Reussel died of his wounds (severed leg) aboard Icarus enroute to the Charleston Navy Yard.  Official documents also report that Gerd Reussel was buried with full military honors in section Post B61 plot #18. I will send a picture of the headstone attached to separate email.
