Hi Herb!

According to this article (middle of first column) not Neudorfer was killed when U 534 was sunk, but Wolfgang Neumann (ID 40680).
What is your source?

The only tribute is the seagull's sweeps
And the teardrops that a sweetheart weeps

Okay, but there is no source cited that really mentions Neudorfer as one of the victims.
The citing is only for "the others".

Hi there,

There seems to be a misunderstanding and misspelling with the names in the article cited.

Fk.Gfr. Josef Neudorfer, born 30.06.1926, was lost with U 534 on 05.05.1945. His loss was confirmed by a report of the supernumeray engineer officer Holtfreder.
Masch.Ob.Gfr Wolfgang Naumann, born 19.12.1923, survived the loss of U 534 and was rescued. He lived in Northern Germany after the war.

Best wishes

Axel
