Hi Chris,

Do you mean photo no. 22? It is a typ S 2 boat without Staukörper. The Lürssen export boats were also without Staukörper (photo no. 23)

Photo no. 24 clearly shows the two wheels that were used to adjust the Staukörper.
Photo no. 25 is a typ S 151 boat, built in Holland at the Gusto ship yard. They all had Staukörper.

The other boats under construction on page 8 are typ S 38 boat, all with Staukörper.

Bild 26 entstand wahrscheinlich zusammen mit Bild 24 (derselbe Raum, Abteilung II), aber jetzt mit Blickrichtung nach Steuerbord vorn

Bild 27 zeigt den vorderen Maschinenraum eines Bootes (Blickrichtung  von achtern nach vorn) mit den beiden Seitenmaschinen (Mercedes 20 Zyl.)

Yes, Bild 24 and 26 shows the Mannschaftsraum on a typ S 30 boat based on the ventilator opening by the hatch and the rektangular windows.

No. 28: A typ S 2 boat with S 1 behind it? It looks like a Indienstellung with white caps (summer) and no torpedotubes. I think it is S 3 on 27 May 1932.

No.29: The is a typ S 7 boat (S 7, S 8 or S 9). The officer has a white cap making it summer. I think it is Indienstellung of S 9 on 12 June 1935.
I think the lower photo shows S 1 during one of the many rebuilds. Is it possible to read the text on the life ring?

Auch dieses Boot hat achtern einen Rettungsring.  Ich meine, oben "Schnellboot" und unten (neben der Relingstütze) eine "7" (eher als eine "9") zu lesen.

It still looks like it is a new boat, with life west on the reling etc.

Could very well be the case. There are many photos showing all the 1 S-Ftl boats in Vegesack at the same time.

But only one officer has a white cap, all others blue!

I think the white cap was worn only with the better uniforms and not with the work clothes. It is probebly the full crew with the commander to the right in the first row and then one higher ranking officer with the white cap. Or maybe the commander is wearing a better uniform then the crew.

The use of the white cap in war and peace is an on going discussion and every input is welcome.

Ich glaube, daß es eine Indienststellung ist, weil gleichzeitig Flagge und Kommandantenwimpel gesetzt werden. Vorne steht ein Mann am Mast, der den Kommandantenwimpel setzt.

Für S 7 wäre das, wie bereits gesagt, der 10.10.1934
Normalerweise stellt der Kommandant und nicht ein Vorgesetzter das Boot in Dienst

Meine Frage ist: was wird bei der Flagge verdeckt ?
Das HK kann es, aufgrund der horizontalen Streifen der Flagge, eigentlich nicht sein.
