Hi,

Here is a description of the battle the British

http://www.hmsedinburgh.co.uk/articles6.php

Vincent O'Hara wrote about this fight is almost the same.

How to describe this fight the Germans?

Hi,

I was referring to the details of the fight German destroyers to escort the convoy QP.11

What was the duration of the attacks of the Germans, the flow of ammunition and reasons for discontinuation of attacks against British destroyers? The British write about five attacks!

I think only german docs can answer to all questions correctly, Sergey.

cam

I understand. A detailed description of the battle, I did not find the English.

Hi,

I have questions for the torpedo attack of the German destroyers.
-When the German destroyers fired torpedoes - at 14.30 or earlier?
-How many torpedoes are fired - 4 or 5?
-By whom they were shooting? Write about the distance of 12000 m. Before the British destroyer or convoy ships? Caught in the vessel. Range of travel of the German torpedo G-7 is 14,000 m.

Hi,

What were damaged by German destroyers in the battle with the British destroyers 1 May  and how many dead were in their carriages?

hi, cam,

Just look into the internet (wikipedia) for answers to your questions !

- Forester fired her torpedoes at Z25, but was almost simultaneously hit by three shells. They disabled 'B' and 'X' guns and the hit in No. 1 boiler room temporarily disabled her propulsion machinery. Twelve crewmen were killed, including her captain, and nine were wounded.

-  Two days later, they were attacked by three German destroyers which badly damaged the two destroyers and put another torpedo into Edinburgh, crippling her. Foresight had eight men killed and eleven wounded during the battle.

greetings, Urs

Urs,

All this is about the battle on May 2. I'm asking about May 1, when the destroyers Schulze-Henrichs tried to attack the convoy QP-11. About this fight, even OHara and other researchers are not written in sufficient detail. I do not use Wikipedia!

Then, IMO, you may find what you look for here, if you order a copy

Thank you, Urs.

The actions of the British are well described and I know about them. The actions of German destroyers are very poorly described.

Hello, cam

Perhaps it would have been helpful if you had, from the start, put forward your question in a more precise way.

In NARA publication T1022, reel 2152, PG 36680, you will find action reports regarding 01.05.42 of Z24 & Z25, including track charts.
Moreover, the war diaries of Z7, Z24, Z25 can be found somewhere on the reels 3297, 3310 & 3311.

Regards - Hägar
