Weiß jemand, was in Fjell, Norway am 27. Oktober 1944 passiert ist?

Hallo Lisamatocks,

https://www.bundesarchiv.de/benutzung/zeitbezug/nationalsozialismus/index.html.en

There are no roses on a sailor's grave
No lilies on an ocean wave
The only tribute is the seagull's sweeps
And the teardrops that a sweetheart weeps

Vielen Dank Hubertus.

English

Thank you Hubertus.

I appreciate your help.

I found a photo of his grave for my grandmother. She was pleased to see his resting place.

Is it possible to find out how he died? Is the best way to do this to contact WASt?

Hubertus

A very long shot is maybe V-5506, in Hjeltefjord 23.10.1944.
But I have no lists for V-5506, only have one crew member from this boot.

Herb.

Dear Lisa,

I highly recommend that you post a request at the WASt by online-form: https://www.dd-wast.de/en/tracing-request/private-matters-research.html

Their answer will take up to 12 month but it is worth a try.

Regards,

Karsten
