First of all apologize for the article in English
Unfortunately, I don't speak German language.
So please not angry if something wrong :)

I'm technical diver from Latvia, I living in Riga.
My hobby is wreck diving and identification.

Some month ago we found a new shipwreck in Baltic sea (Ostsee), near from Uzava (Latvia)
This ship sunks at depth 42 m, the lenght is app 50 m and ship design points, that it  was built 1890 - 1920 year.

Please watch my video here :  https://youtu.be/iczCTmq62sQ

Can I ask Your help for wreck identification ?
I think, it may be German minehunter T-64 (S 64), sunk 23. Oktober 1916 - https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_deutscher_Torpedoboote_(1871%E2%80%931919)

May be You have any technical specifications or photos of this ship ?

Thanks in advance !

Urs Heßling

hi,

If what is visible from 1:02 in the video on is the bow, I doubt that this is a former torpedo boat, the form (too wide) doesn't look right.

Wenn das, was man ab 1:02 im Video sieht, der Bug ist, zweifle ich, daß dies ein ehemaliges Torpedoboot ist, die Form (zu breit) erscheint nicht richtig.

Gruß, Urs

Urs Heßling - yes, my first idea - this was a torpedoboat, but we can't found torpedo launchers.
I'm sure, that this is steam engine (boiler is visible from 2:47) high-speed craft, design point to 1890-1920 years.

At the very beginning of the video we see the stern - am I right? My opinion: This is not the stern of a torpedoboat, but of a tug.

Karsten

Maverick

Karsten - yes, it's a stern, but this ship is too narrow for tug.

too narrow for tug
And perhaps also too long for a tug.

How many of the holes in the deck were for funnels?

I feel you misunderstood me .. I think that this is NOT a torpedo boat.

Karsten - I think - only one - on rear hood
It's visible at 0:32 , 1:26 and 2:40
It placed right behind boiler - 2:46

At 0:42 You can see steering wheel, who fell down on the desk.

Maverick

Urs - sorry, I probably did not understand you.
My opinion - it is fast boat, like torpedoboat, but it hasn't torpedo tubes.

May be someone has a photo of "Kleines Torpedoboot 1885–1892 (S 7–S 65)"  ?
I can't found :(
