I'm at the moment preparing an exhibition dealing with Dutch submarines built between 1904 and 1939. In the first 15 years was a Scottish born engineer named Marley Fotheringham Hay active in the Dutch submarine branch with several patents for inventions he made. He worked for the the American Electric Boat Company, Whitehead at Fiume and Dumbarton shipyard of William Denny and Brothers. Between 1914 and 1921 he lived at The Hague, Netherlands where he had his own office. In 1921 however he moved to Berlin, Germany. Is anybody familiar with what he was doing in Germany. At the Hague there was a office called INKAVOS specialized in submarines for several foreign and set up to take care of the German submarine knowlegde dating from the First World War. He was a submarine engineer with a huge experience and author of the book secrets of the submarine.
